Supporting Black and Latina Girls – South Coast Day 1

This immersive, two-day workshop equips both mentors and youth-serving staff to address many of the challenges Black and Latina girls and young women face today and provide them with the tools to help girls grow their community, build their confidence, and live the life they want. This two-day training curriculum explores questions like: Why focus on this population of young people? What challenges do Black and Latina girls/femmes face? How do we take special care in establishing mentoring relationships with Black and Latina girls? How do shared/disparate cultural experiences impact our mentoring relationships? This training is for anyone who is in mentoring relationships with self-identified Black and Latina girls/femmes or the staff of organizations who support these mentoring relationships.
