Disrupting Hidden Bias & Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth

June 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

REGISTER HERE
Location: Framingham Public Library
Lexington St., Framingham, MA

During this training, participants will learn what implicit bias is, how it shows up in real-time, and what we can do to counteract our own biases. It is important for us to understand our own implicit bias, as it will allow us to meet young people where they are at, giving space for them to build their story unclouded by our judgments. Additionally, we will discuss and build skills, knowledge, and strategies to create a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ youth. Participants will learn key terms and the difference between sexual orientation and gender, as well as the types of discrimination LGBTQ youth experience in Massachusetts. At the end of the session, participants will learn best practices and develop action plans for their organizations to best support LGBTQ youth.

Questions? Reach out to Lauren at lmccabe@massmentors.org

This is a second opportunity to attend the same session as 6/2.
