MENTOR and Mass Mentoring Partnership to host leadership panel conversation around effective workplace practices and investment to drive positive change for young people
For this invitation-only event, we will bring together diverse and proximate stakeholders to dive into the growing demand to integrate relationship-centered practices within workplaces, as well as elevate the need for policies and public dollars that reinforce these investments. Together, we will examine how the mentoring field bolsters systems and policy-level change through cross-sector partnerships with employers that center relationship-centered practices and coordinated advocacy efforts on the state and federal level for public investments.
BOSTON – Organizations and companies are continuing to grapple with the question of how to intentionally create an inclusive workforce reflective of society, while not falling prey to the current controversy around diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. In a search for balance, senior leadership from Boston-based public and private entities along with a Massachusetts State representative will hold open dialogue about the shifts towards skills-based hiring for young people and look at the role mentorship plays within a robust, inclusive hiring and staff retention strategy.
WHAT: MENTOR’s INAUGURAL FIRESIDE CHAT ON WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES TO CREATE SYSTEMS & POLICY LEVEL CHANGE
The panel conversation is hosted by MENTOR, the leading nonprofit increasing both the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships, in partnership with MENTOR Affiliate, Mass Mentoring Partnership. The fireside panel will shed light on the chronically disproportionate gaps in young peoples’ access to social capital and look at how mentoring bolsters systems and policy level change through cross-sector partnerships with employers that center relationship-centered practices and coordinated advocacy efforts on the state and federal level for public investments.
