Generative Conflict & Restorative Approaches:

In this workshop, participants will be invited to..

– consider frameworks and approaches to relationship building, mentorship, youth development, and strengthening community

– reflect on ones relationship to conflict

– explore what it means to hold space for conflict and deep listening

– learn about restorative practices and restorative justice

– practice listening techniques and other restorative communication skills

– connect metaphors and inspiration from nature with transformative justice and relationships

– share ideas and experiences related to joy/laughter and generosity/vulnerability

Trainers:

Kaydance Scotto is the Restorative Relationships Corps Coordinator at DIAL/SELF Youth & Community Services. They have been an AmeriCorps Program Coordinator since 2014, after completing two years of AmeriCorps service. In their role, and in their life, Kaydance has been committed to building supportive relationships, effective communication skills, and intentional learning spaces. They appreciate learning from nature and using creative approaches to make meaningful connections.

Matt Ashby is the AmeriCorps Programs Director at DIAL/SELF Youth & Community Services. Before becoming the director in 2012, he served two terms of AmeriCorps – a VISTA member with DIAL/SELF and a Public Allies member in Connecticut. Matt aspires to be of use in some way.
