ASOST White Saviorism
After-school and out-of-school time programs play a significant role in mentoring relationships, which can perpetuate racial inequity. It is essential for mentors and these programs to prioritize the well-being of the youth and families they serve. This workshop is designed specifically for after-school and out-of-school time programs to raise awareness of the harmful impact of white saviorism on youth and how it can manifest in mentoring relationships. Participants will develop the skills to identify white saviorism and learn effective strategies to combat its negative effects on youth and families.
This training is provided at no cost for ASOST grantees thanks to generous funding from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
