East Coast MENTOR Affiliate Leaders will discuss how infusing mentoring practices can help communities address some of the most complex challenges we are facing with young people. Get insight into trends communities are experiencing across the East Coast and practical solutions for connections.

09:30 AM – 11:00 AM Masterclass: Engaging the Disengaged Teen – Practical Strategies that Work
Engaging Young People in A Time of Disconnection— Practical Strategies that Work Led by Rebecca Winthrop, Author of the Disengaged Teen This interactive masterclass explores why students disengage—and more importantly, what you can do about it. Rebecca Winthrop, drawing from her research in The Disengaged Teen: Helping Kids Learn Better, Feel Better, and Live Better, will share a practical, actionable playbook designed specifically for mentoring and youth professionals working with middle and high school students. Beyond the School Walls- The Power of Parent & Caregiver Engagement Session Overview: This dynamic panel explores the critical role families play in student engagement—and the real challenges schools and programs face in building authentic partnerships with parents and caregivers. Panelists share lived experiences, barriers, and bright spots, helping participants rethink traditional approaches to family engagement.
