BOSTON, MA — June 1, 2026 — Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP), the leading statewide organization dedicated to expanding quality mentoring and empowering youth relationships, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Dr. David C. Hughes, James Cassin-Reed, and Steel White. These appointments arrive at a pivotal moment for MMP as the organization advances a long-term strategy focused on engaging local youth-serving programs into a fully integrated, robustly funded statewide mentoring ecosystem.

As MMP continues its efforts of supporting more youth across Massachusetts, the organization is focused on its ability to expand its reach, tracking what works best through data, and securing the support from partners that is needed to help continue that growth. The unique skills of these three new board members align perfectly with these goals. Together, they will help to build a stronger, statewide network that ensures every young person has the support they need to succeed.

“We are thrilled to welcome David, James, and Steel to our Board of Directors during this period of  evolution for Mass Mentoring Partnership,” said Dr. Cynthia K. Orellana, President and CEO of Mass Mentoring Partnership. “As we work to ensure every young person across Massachusetts has access to empowering mentoring relationships, their leadership and expertise in systems change, innovation, strategy, and finance will help strengthen our capacity, deepen community investment, and support sustainable growth.”

The additions to the Board highlight an intentional alignment between the professionals’ backgrounds and MMP’s strategic growth objectives:

  • Dr. David C. Hughes brings decades of experience spanning  sports management, higher education, and systemic equity. As a founder of global fintech platforms and an advocate in federal education policy, his background in building collaborative and accessible systems will support MMP’s efforts to strengthen opportunity and engagement for historically marginalized communities.
  • James Cassin-Reed, an executive leader at  ALKU brings expertise in revenue strategy, corporate partnerships, and organizational growth. His background in integrating data, marketing, and technological frameworks to accelerate revenue will help advance MMP’s corporate engagement and long-term sustainability efforts.
  • Steel White, Vice President and Relationship Manager in Global Commercial Banking at Bank of America, joins the board with extensive experience navigating institutional credit, treasury solutions, and commercial banking. His fiscal leadership  will strengthen MMP’s development strategies and long-range financial planning.

“Strong governance requires diverse perspectives and forward-thinking leadership,” said Nicole Eurieck, Board Chair of Mass Mentoring Partnership. “David, James, and Steel each bring unique expertise and strategic insight that will help strengthen our organization as we continue to grow. Their commitment to our mission will help ensure that young people across Massachusetts have access to the supportive relationships they need to thrive.”

With these appointments, Mass Mentoring Partnership continues to strengthen its leadership capacity while bridging community-centered youth advocacy with corporate, financial, and operational expertise. The organization remains focused on expanding equity, deepening partnerships, and ensuring more young people across Massachusetts have access to trusted mentors.
