Supporting Black and Latino Boys through Mentoring: Brockton, MA Day 1 of 2

January 21 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Join us for a two-day training; the first day will be an in-person workshop on Supporting Black and Latino Boys on 1/21 in Brockton, MA.

There will be a second day for attendees to join virtually on 1/27.

This training aims to provide adults with the skills and knowledge needed to be effective mentors for Black and Latino young men and boys. The training consists of three modules:

  • Examination of cultural competencies, including an exploration of personal views on privilege and race, providing tools for building ethnic/racial pride.
  • Identification of social capital and related empowerment of mentee and family, and the importance of racial identity.
  • Exploration of research-based strategies and approaches that can assist mentors as they embrace a critical consciousness in their work with young Black males.
