SUMMARY:Mentor Circle: Expanding Networks of Support
DESCRIPTION:Expanding Networks of Support and Working with Others in the Mentoring System: Chapters of Becoming a Better Mentor \nThe impact of mentoring can be even stronger when a mentor actively helps their mentee build and strengthen connections with other supportive adults and organizations. Great mentors can build on the strength of their relationship to help mentees cultivate connections and ask for support from others. Some programs allow for an even greater level of support by introducing you to other adults in the mentee’s life\, such as their caregivers\, which can allow us to align our efforts with theirs. Whether we know these important adults in the mentoring ‘system’ around our mentee or not\, we can offer support in identifying and strengthening relationships with other caring adults and programs\, and in developing robust networks of support. Building these support networks can not only expand your mentee’s “social capital” but also develop their capacity to identify and reach out to supportive adults now and throughout the rest of their lives. \nJoin us for a brand new offering from Mass Mentoring Partnership: Mentor Circles will run every third Thursday evening of most months (dates will be adjusted if holidays interfere.) Mentor Circles are virtual\, off-hours opportunities to connect with other mentors\, build knowledge\, and practice skills related to being the best mentor you can be. Topics will vary. You are welcome as often as you can join us. \n  \nREGISTER
