SUMMARY:Adopting a Mentoring Mindset
DESCRIPTION:This training is intended to provide youth program staff with the capacity building needed to understand the critical components of the “Mentoring Mindset.” Each participant will leave with knowledge of the four core components and how they influence our work as mentors and mentees in our organization and communities. We will also unpack how this mentoring mindset can be shared with our volunteers and partners to provide shared understanding of our work. The goal for the “Mentoring Mindset” framework and training is to shift the way that relationships are created\, sustained\, and leveraged to deepen the shared responsibility of realizing each person’s full potential and their capacity to influence their communities. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:This training prepares mentoring staff to develop and facilitate training for their adult volunteers. Participants will gain the tools and skills for group facilitation\, including preparation and delivery techniques\, strategies to approach challenging situations\, and have the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe and comfortable setting. Participants will enhance their knowledge of mentoring best practices as they learn MMP’s training curricula and explore how the content can be modified to meet specific program goals and target audiences. Train the Trainer: Mentoring 101 will give you the confidence and skills to train mentors to develop empowering relationships with youth in your program.
