SUMMARY:Mentor Circle: Practicing Cultural Humility February 2026
DESCRIPTION:Practicing Cultural Humility: A Chapter of Becoming a Better Mentor \nJoin us for a brand new offering from Mass Mentoring Partnership: Mentor Circles will run every third Thursday evening of most months (dates will be adjusted if holidays interfere.) Mentor Circles are virtual\, off-hours opportunities to connect with other mentors\, build knowledge\, and practice skills related to being the best mentor you can be. Topics will vary. You are welcome as often as you can join us. \nCultural humility is an ongoing\, lifelong process of self-reflection and learning about how social identity and experiences are shaped by systems of oppression\, power\, and privilege. We consider this an especially important topic in all mentoring relationships\, even if mentors and mentees are similar in some important characteristics. Mentors with cultural humility continuously reflect on their own social identity and make efforts to learn about their mentee’s social identity\, experiences\, and background. Join us for guided reflection about the differences and similarities between mentors and mentees that are shaped by inequities in our society. Learn how cultivating this skill can help mentors overcome barriers in a relationship with a young person\, especially when approached with empathy and a growth mindset. \n  \nREGISTER
