SUMMARY:Introduction to the Mentoring Mindset
DESCRIPTION:This training is intended to provide youth program staff with the capacity building needed to understand the critical components of the “Mentoring Mindset.” Each participant will leave with knowledge of the four core components and how they influence our work as mentors and mentees in our organization and communities. We will also unpack how this mentoring mindset can be shared with our volunteers and partners to provide shared understanding of our work. The goal for the “Mentoring Mindset” framework and training is to shift the way that relationships are created\, sustained\, and leveraged to deepen the shared responsibility of realizing each person’s full potential and their capacity to influence their communities. \n  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Cultural Responsiveness
DESCRIPTION:The ability to connect across cultures is key to supporting our work with youth and caregivers. This interactive training will help participants understand dimensions of identity and culture and the ways that prejudices and bias hamper opportunities for connection. This introductory training helps program staff explore personal dynamics of power and privilege and begin to develop strategies to increase both personal and organizational capacity to practice cultural responsiveness. \n  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Day 3: Mental Health & Dis-Ease
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health & Dis-Ease \nAdolescence is a crucial period for developing and maintaining the habits important for mental health\, but some adolescents are at greater risk of mental health conditions due to material disadvantages\, stigma\, discrimination or exclusion\, and/or lack of access to quality support and services. This is why mentoring is so critical. A supportive adult presence – that allows for a shared connection and vulnerability – contributes to positive growth and adaptation. Come and learn how to promote resiliency among young people in this virtual training\, targeted to both staff and mentors. \nAttend all 4 and receive a certificate of completion* \nImportance of Healing for Our Well-being: For Us & the Youth We Serve\nTrauma and healing series in Brockton.\n1.
