SUMMARY:The Essentials: Training for Youth-Serving Providers Who Mentor Black Young Men
DESCRIPTION:  \nThrough a grant awarded by The Black Male Advancement Office\, MMP welcomes the Essentials Curriculum Mentor Training: \nMMP is excited to invite curriculum specialists from MENTOR affiliates\, Marcus Strother and LaNelle Ramey to facilitate a 9-hour 2-day training session\, which will consist of three modules requiring: \nExamination of cultural competencies\, including an exploration of personal views on privilege and race\, providing tools for building ethnic/racial pride. \nIdentification of social capital and related empowerment of mentee and family\, and the importance of racial identity. \nExploration of research-based strategies and approaches that can assist mentors as they embrace a critical consciousness in their work with young Black males. \nLunch will be provided*\n\n\n\n\nThis training will be 2 days.  \n10:00AM – 4:00PM on Monday\, May 20th  \n&  \n10:00AM – 4:00PM on Tuesday\, May 21st. \n\nNortheastern Crossing\, 1175 Tremont Street\, Boston\, MA 02120 \n\nREGISTER TODAY!
