There are more than 15 million immigrant youth in the United States. In Massachusetts, an estimated one in five children are immigrants. This three hour training will shed light on the experiences of immigrant youth, as well as the unique ability of empowering relationships to support this group of young people. Participants will increase their knowledge of immigrant youth’s needs and learn strategies to create programming that is responsive and inclusive.

- Recognize the assets, experiences and challenges faced by immigrant youth across the state
- Assess your program’s ability to provide culturally competent programming for immigrant youth
- Prepare mentors and volunteers to engage immigrant youth in empowering relationships
