We were thrilled to join with our partners and friends on November 8th at the Springfield Museums to celebrate our 10th anniversary in Western Massachusetts! It was an opportunity to look back at the last decade of making empowering youth-adult relationships happen in the region. We were fortunate to have public officials from Western Massachusetts join us, including Michael Knapik from Governor Baker's office and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. Both brought citations and proclamations recognizing our anniversary in the region.
We also recognized our Difference Makers, more than twenty individuals and organizations who have helped make the past ten years so successful and impactful. These included funders, public officials, youth leaders, mentoring program leaders, former MMP staff and board members. Without their efforts and the work of our partner organizations, we would not be able to do this work.
We celebrated two incredible mentors with our Above and Beyond Mentor Awards. Nicole Sacco from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County/CHD and Wayne Moore from the Springfield Public Schools are tremendous examples of how caring adults are making a huge difference in the lives of young people who need them in Western Massachusetts.
MMP is dedicated to being a statewide organization and helping to fuel this movement across the Commonwealth. We are excited to continue our work in Western Massachusetts for the next ten years and beyond. Thank you to our partners for all the work you do to help young people and strengthen our communities!
