2018 Mentoring Institute
Mass Mentoring Partnership is excited to announce the return of the Mentoring Institute, designed to provide all the necessary tools and information you need to create and sustain empowering youth-adult relationships through the modality of mentoring. This training was created with your busy schedules and unique program needs in mind. The Mentoring Institute builds upon MMP’s existing training curriculum, offering new staff at mentoring programs the opportunity to receive the quality training they need to hit the ground running and work effectively with mentors and other staff.
The Mentoring Institute offers information and tools based on the Elements of Effective Practice, the nationally recognized research-based standards for youth mentoring. Participants will learn proven practices to support empowering youth-adult relationships and build the skills to use them in their programs. Institute topics include an introduction to mentoring and the basics of program operations including recruitment, screening, training, and matching and match support. The training is activity based, practical, and packed with tools, tips, and resources that meet the needs of new program staff. Participants will receive MMP’s Mentoring Institute Workbook and the Introduction to Mentoring Toolkit, containing many tools and templates to support programming.
