Young workers between the ages of 16 and 24 are disproportionately unemployed, and there remains a great need to build and expand effective pathways for teens to get the skills and support they need to prepare for college and the workforce. The Highland Street Corps Ambassadors of Mentoring had an incredible service year. The 2012-13 Corps: Generated more than 2,140 inquiries from prospective mentors Recruited, screened, and matched more than 230 caring adult mentors Served more than 40,300 hours to expand high-quality youth mentoring Served  at Cradles to Crayons in November during Opening Day, and again in partnership with AmeriCorps Cape Cod for the MLK Day of Service in January. Collaborated to plan and implement Youth Mentoring Day at the State House in January, and (tried!) to conduct a group retreat at the Essex Retreat... Read more
