Since 2005, Mass Mentoring Partnership has teamed up with the Boston Red Sox for the Red Sox Mentoring Challenge, an initiative designed to recruit more caring Massachusetts adults as mentors. At the helm as honorary campaign chairman is NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell, who serves on the board of MENTOR.
Right now more than 3,000 kids are waiting for mentors in the Commonwealth, but the Challenge has helped to reduce the gap. More than 1,200 prospective mentors from across the Commonwealth have been identified through the Challenge, and of those, it’s estimated that more than 350 adults have been matched with a child.
MMP is gearing up for the 2010 season - mentoring programs, learn about how to participate, receive referrals, tickets and more!
